Our school library is a treasure trove of knowledge and a hub for intellectual growth and exploration for our students.

  • Spacious and Welcoming Environment: The library at Buwenge Modern School is designed to provide a comfortable and inviting space for students, staff, and visitors. It features ample natural light, well-arranged seating areas, and a quiet atmosphere that fosters concentration and deep learning.
  • The library boasts an extensive collection of books, covering a wide range of subjects and genres. The collection includes textbooks, reference materials, biographies, encyclopedias, dictionaries, magazines, and newspapers. It is regularly updated to ensure relevance and cater to the diverse interests and academic needs of students and staff.
    • Reading Programs and Events: The library at Buwenge Modern SS is proactive in promoting a reading culture and fostering a love for literature. It organizes reading programs, book clubs, author visits, and literary events to engage students and encourage their participation in literary activities. These initiatives aim to instill a lifelong passion for reading and expand students’ literary horizons.
    • Collaboration with Classroom Instruction: The library collaborates closely with classroom instruction to support the curriculum and enhance learning outcomes. Librarians work closely with teachers to integrate research projects, promote information literacy skills, and recommend relevant resources that align with the subjects being taught. This collaborative approach reinforces classroom learning and fosters independent inquiry.

Core Subjects: The curriculum in Uganda includes various core subjects taught at different levels of education. Some of the core subjects at O and A Level are:

Secondary Education (O-level): English Language, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), Social Studies, Geography, History, Religious Education, and a local language.

Secondary Education (A-level): Students have the option to specialize in different subjects, including Sciences, Arts, and Commercial. Some common subjects include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature in English, Economics, History, Geography, Divinity, Entrepreneurship, and General Paper.
